Talia has a room in the Hendrake tower that she shares with one
room-mate. The stone room is surprisingly warm and is positioned to catch the winter light. The walls are lined with tapestries to help keep in the warmth, provided by an open fireplace, and there are soft oriental rugs on the floor. Stepping into the half-circular room (it takes up one side of this floor of the tower), the fireplace is directly opposite the door with a couch, two armchairs and a coffee table arranged in front of it. The two halves of the room are identically furnished; containing a four-poster canopied bed, a desk and chair, a wardrobe, a chest of drawers, a bookcase, a large chest and a dressing table. Talia's half of the room is militarily neat, with everything carefully squared away and a bed so tightly made you can bounce a coin off it. Silverblade is kept locked in the chest at the foot of the bed when not in use. The only obvious personal touches are pictures of her parents on her desk, a bonsai tree and a slightly incongruous fluffy unicorn on her bed, a favourite childhood toy she could not bear to part with when she started school.
